Include links to other portfolios or projects outside of a portfolio

Hi Community,
I created a portfolio for my team to collaborate and to have visibility on what the team is up to. This includes cross-functional projects that our team doesn’t own; so we’re wondering if we could link to other portfolios or to projects that are outside our portfolio ?

Marina – I’m not sure that I understand your questions. What do you mean you are wondering if you can link to other portfolios or projects that are outside of your portfolio?

Can you describe in more detail what you are trying to make happen, and why?

Hi Christine,
Thank you for getting back to me. I guess I could rephrase and simplify by asking:

  • can Portfolio A be an item within Portfolio B alongside projects ?
  • can a project be linked to 2 or more portfolios ?

I’m trying to provide my team with visibility in one Team Portfolio of all the company projects and initiatives we’re involved in.

Projects can belong to multiple portfolios.

For example:

  • Company portfolio with all projects.
  • Marketing portfolio with Marketing only projects.

As far as I am aware you can not add a portfolio to another portfolio.

@Bastien_Siebman has a great tool to multi-add projects to portfolios iDO Tools - Improve Asana with our tools and automations if you’re looking to streamline this process a little.
