To me, Excel holds the gold standard when it comes to keyboard navigation.
Now I get that Asana is a different tool, but at the moment I don’t seem to be able to do this using keyboard only:
- fill in value for reference field
- move to the same task below to fill in that reference field
I also don’t understand why I need to hit enter before typing is registered as searching a value for the selected field x task intersection.
Going through a list and updating all of the values in one column is something I feel I should be able to do with minimum keystrokes, and without using the mouse.

@Jan-Rienk this is very top of mind for me! The mental model for getting work done in Asana is 100% different than a spreadsheet native user, but addressing this is already an initiative I’ve started. So keep the use cases coming!

To expand on this request, if I am filling out fields in a column in List view, such as estimated time for each task/subtask, I would like the ability to arrow or tab down to the cell directly below or and continue entering numbers.
As it works today, I have to enter the number, grab my mouse, click out of the cell I am in, then click a new cell and repeat the process. Excel is a good example, as previously mentioned, because I can either tab to the cell to the right, enter/return to the beginning of the next row, or arrow up or down and press spacebar to edit a selected cell.
