Why did this feature go away? Our users span multiple projects, and not all users have the same working schedule. In our workplace, projects don’t need specific work days—individual users do. Please return this feature.

Oh, how embarrassing—I was thinking of the “Do not disturb” feature which is still there!
Ok, well, now I have a new feature request 
I agree. User availability should be tied to the person, not the project. It made planning much easier, especially for part-time teams
