The Asana team just put together a starter guide for AI Teammates, and it’s the kind of resource I wish existed when I first started exploring what they can do during the beta testing. 
It walks you through 12 real tasks you can hand off to an AI Teammate, organized from “this takes five minutes to set up” all the way to “okay, now you’re showing off.” And here’s the part I think you’ll like most: every single task comes with a sample prompt you can copy, paste, and tweak for your own work. No staring at a blank screen trying to figure out what to type!
A few examples of what’s in there:
- Triage your task list. Let your AI Teammate scan what you’ve got, flag what’s overdue, and tell you where to start. That morning sorting ritual made simpler, with less decision fatigue!
- Turn a meeting transcript into something useful. Most transcripts are a mess of text that nobody actually reads. The guide shows you how to pull out decisions, action items, and a summary you’d actually send to your team.
- Break down a big, vague problem into scoped tasks. You know the “we need to figure out why activation dropped 15%” kind of problem? The guide has a prompt for turning that into clear work streams with owners and deliverables.
One tip from the guide I especially plus one based on my own experience testing AI Teammates internally: treat your AI Teammate like a sharp new hire on their first week. They’re capable, but they need you to share the context. What you’re trying to accomplish, who it’s for, where to find the relevant materials. That small change in how you write your prompts makes a real difference.
