XDOMAIN_MERGE_FORBIDDEN error when adding additional email

I’m trying to add additional e-mail under My Profile Settings -> Notifications -> Add New Email.
Email address is from a different domain in our organization.
However, when I click reauthenticate, I end up with error:

What am I doing wrong?

When you do, make sure to add:

  • The additional email address you are trying to add to your account.
