Wrong validation: Cannot add goal to project when it has 4 poarent goals already.

Briefly describe (1-2 sentences) the Bug you’re experiencing:

On a project overview I cannot add a goal if the goal is already attached to 4 parent goals.

As a workaround, if you go to the goal directly, you can link the project there.

Steps to reproduce:

  • Create 4 parent goals.
  • Create another one and make it a sub-goal to the 4 parent goals.
  • Create a project, go to the overview.
  • Try to add the goal to “Goals this project supports”

Hi @sematnic, welcome to the Asana Community Forum :wave:t2:

I can confirm that this is not a bug but is intended behaviour at the moment. You cannot link a sub-goal to a project if it already has 4 parent-goals.

While we don’t plan to make changes to this right now, I’ll keep you posted if I have any updates!

Hi Rebecca,

but I can still add the project as ‘Supporting work’ to the same sub-goal if I go to the goal and link it from there. So it is possible, but only in one direction.

I also don’t understand why the number parent-goals would limit the amount of projects contributing to a goal. Is there a relation that I don’t see?
