When clicking on the details of a task, the time dropdown menu automatically pops up

Briefly describe (1-2 sentences) the Bug you’re experiencing: When clicking on the details of a task, the time scroll automatically pops up and you have to click outside of it to get it to go away.

Steps to reproduce: Click on the details of a task

Browser version: Chrome Version 92.0.4515.131

Welcome, @Ryan_Dailey,

I totally agree. But to clarify (and your screenshot doesn’t actually show the problem)…

Given a task that already has Due date and time value, when you click the Due date to edit it, the Due time dropdown menu appears by default and shouldn’t (that dropdown should only appear if you click the Due time field); that may not be the part of the dialog that you’re interested in, yet you have to click now to get it to disappear first to work with anything else:

Thanks,

Larry

Hi @lpb, @Ryan_Dailey, could you please clarify if the due date/time menu opens as soon as you open the task pane, or when clicking on the due date itself?

From Larry’s message, I understand it to be that the due time dropdown opens automatically when clicking the due date, but you would like this to be manual. Is this correct?

Larry,

Yes, you are 100% correct. Also, there is a bug when you create a task and give it a due date and time, when it appears in My Tasks the time has disappeared.

Thanks,

Ryan

Rebecca,

Not sure if you get the same messages I send to Larry. Thanks for your help.

This is the correct understanding. It seems arbitrary to have that dropdown open; none should open.

Thanks,

Larry

You guys are good, that is exactly right.

Thanks for following up, @lpb and @Ryan_Dailey! I’ve gone ahead and escalated this to our Product team to confirm if this is expected behaviour or a bug.

I’ll keep you posted and let you know as soon as I have any updates

Hi @lpb and @Ryan_Dailey, our Product team has confirmed that is intentional behaviour, and not a bug. They have, however, taken the feedback on board.

I’ll keep you posted if they decide to edit this feature.

Thank you Rebecca. It is a very annoying behaviour, not everytime I click into a task am I trying to change the due time after it has already been set. Many times I am keeping the due time the same and just changing the date. Previous to this update, if I wanted to change the due time, I would just click into the time to change it, seems like a very normal flow previously. Thanks for your help!
