Using Goals for Follow-Up on Product Launches

Hello!

My team would like to set up 30/60/90/365 product financial follow up for each new product launch. Any thoughts on how to set that up in the Goals area without being on the specific plan for templates.

What exactly do you mean with this?

For example:

X team to conduct Financial Review to $$ Goal:

  • 30 Day
  • 60 Day
  • 90 Day
  • 365 Day

I think those would be tasks, as you can only have limited options for a reminder cadence. (Either Weekly, Biweekly, Monthly or Quarterly)

The way I’d set this up (if I understand you correctly) would be to create a project template with tasks financial review tasks relative to (after) the project due date.

This means each project you create you are asked to set a due date, and the financial review tasks would be planned relative to that.

You’d connect the project to the financial goal for the project, and you can navigate to the goal either through the overview tab, or through a portfolio when you turn the visibility of the “Connected goals” column on through Options.

Would that solve it for you?

Mmm! I’ll check! My priority is to move this group of tasks off the actual project launch timeline, and run this separately, and I think setting them up as a separate project, potentially under the Portfolio might do it?

Can you clarify why you want these separate?

So the project actually completes instead of all launches building up per year. Ideally, the financial follow up would be conducted by a separate team. Currently, the success of the project is not equal to financial success of the launch.
