What is the significance of vertical task placement when viewing a project in Timeline?

For example, I have tasks in my projects with later due dates which are located higher up vertically than tasks with earlier due dates, which doesn’t make sense to me.

I understand that horizontal position signifies to due date, but I don’t understand what vertical position signifies.

Hi @Sean111, thanks for reaching out! The vertical order of tasks in Timeline view is based on effective start date (so start date if it’s set, else due date), and uses creation time of the task as a tie-breaker.

It will also depends on your sort order. If you sort by assignee, we auto-pack the tasks to fit in the smallest vertical space possible to maximize the content you are able to view.

I hope this helps to clarify!
