The subtask / description arrow indicator on the desktop site should be on the mobile app as well

Why is it that on the desktop site there is an arrow indicator to show that the task has subtasks or content in the description?..

…But this feature does not exist on the mobile app?

The feature on the desktop site should be on the mobile app as well. Without it, it is impossible to tell if a task has subtasks or content in the description without tapping into the task on the mobile app. This is very inefficient as:

  1. When you tap or swipe a task as complete on the mobile app, you might be missing subtasks or instructions left in the description (as there are no indicators like the desktop site);
  2. To avoid the issue with point 1, your alternative is to tap into every task to double check; this completely ruins the point of being able to tap or swipe tasks as complete quickly on the list view and forces you into a very inefficient process on the mobile app, i.e. tapping into every task, checking for subtasks / description content and going back out to the task list view

Also, it’s completely wacky that the feature was deployed on the desktop site and not the mobile app when it’s more useful on the mobile app than the desktop site :confused::confused::confused:

Why? Because on the desktop site, you can quickly click a task and see the subtasks and description on the side panel where as on the mobile app you can’t…

Please roll out the same indicator that exists on the desktop site on the mobile app!

Hello - pretty new user here. Started a new position and Asana has been my go to site to manage projects and my daily “to do” activities. However on iPad (iPhone too) I notice that I can’t see any indicators that there are sub tasks.

My projects have variable levels so I use subtasks all the time which is great as long as I’m on my laptop. However I do spend a fair amount of time on the go and while in meetings it can be very difficult to remember which tasks have sub tasks and/or assigned to different people. Are there any plans to put some type of symbol that subtasks exist for iPad? In board view you can see a comment symbol but for some reason you can’t see subtasks. In list view you can’t even see a comment symbol.

Anyway loving the application but it’s pretty dialed down for on the go.

Hi @TonyG, welcome to the Asana Community Forum :wave:t2:

Thanks for taking the time to provide this feedback! :slight_smile:

Hopefully this is something out Product team can implement in the future. I’ll keep you posted with any updates on this thread!

That this has not been adressed for almost 2.5 years just feels strange. The implication of not knowing if you have subtasks attached are huge. To have a subtask indicator on desktop an not mobile, how does that compute 2021? The code to fix this is/should be simple. That your team is not prioritizing this simple fix made me stop my move from Clickup. I thought Asanas mobile UI was better overall, but not making this a priority for such a long time does not bode well for the future.

Almost 4 years later and this still hasn’t been implemented, that’s awful. Does anyone know of other task organization apps that work better with mobile layouts?
