I wish to be able to view all tags so I can ensure I am re-using the ones existing, not creating new ones, ergo defeating the entire purpose of attempting to organize things.
You can actually do that. Click the tags option in the task pane (or press Tab+P). In the box, press spacebar, then backspace. You’ll get a list of all of the available tags.
