My team and I have fully embraced the task types model we developed, creating specific task types for meeting notes, tools, and even regular tasks, each with distinct “working” and “completed” statuses. This approach addresses the hidden friction of having to click into a task twice just to update its status. In calendar view, updating a task’s status directly is much faster and more intuitive, and the increased visibility has encouraged the team to keep tasks updated more consistently.
The challenge, however, is that Advanced Search currently doesn’t support filtering by task type and status. This makes cross-project tracking—such as checking which tasks are “In Review”—difficult and creates gaps in our workflow. Enabling Advanced Search to filter by specific task types and their statuses would be a huge improvement, allowing us to leverage the full benefits of our task types system while maintaining visibility and efficiency across projects.
