You are correct! We’re pleased to announce that task templates are now available in the Calendar view, joining all other project views. 
This update is available to 100% of domains, and addresses past challenges where using templates in the Calendar view wasn’t possible, resulting in a smoother and more intuitive experience.
As part of our ongoing Toolbar Redesign, we’ve also unified toolbars across 10 objects. The ‘add task’ button now works consistently across List, Board, Calendar, Timeline, and Gantt views.
