@Cecily_Gish,

Can you explain what you mean by “shows up?” My Tasks can be set up in many different ways, so it’s not clear how it is set up in this case and falling short.

You can have a My Tasks tab sorted by Start date that certainly will address this.

Some other related info, and places where you can vote for added functionality:

A link to my article on My Tasks set up which provides rules for getting notified early about upcoming Start and Due dates:

> @scottjohnson, Your issues are all address in my article here: That covers an updated version of My Tasks Asana released several years after your post! @anon23352771, I totally agree with you, and I strongly recommend to make a different distinction in setting Due dates, as described in my Forum Leaders Tip here: A related point, in case you use dependencies, is to include a rule in your My Tasks to “promote” a task to “Now” or “Today” section if it should become unblocked, so you can see…

Please consider voting for this:

More info, particularly toward the end of the thread:

> [@Start Date Tasks in Today's My Tasks](https://forum.asana.com/t/start-date-tasks-in-todays-my-tasks/29097):
>
> My circle often uses the “Start Date” function to put a task on our radar days prior to being due. The issue we run into is that tasks with a start date of today don’t appear in today’s tasks, it only appears on the date it’s due. It seems to me that for users who primarily use the My Tasks in list format don’t benefit from this function. I’m wondering if there’s work in the pipeline to show Start Date tasks in today’s tasks in list view up until the date the task is due? Use case: I have a task…

Thanks,

Larry
