Task History In Timeline

The Problem

At the moment, I can see in the timeline of my project only the due date of my tasks and milestones.

While this is a very nice ability with great value, it would be even more valuable if I could see other stuff like:

  • Creation date of the task
  • Dependencies of one task by the other (maybe with some color coding)
  • Section change date (eg. to see the exact time a task was changed from “In Progress” to “Done”)
  • Specific fields value change

The Desired Functionality

One should be able to choose to see more events in the Timeline tab, including section changes, fields changes, etc.
This ability should be togglable, meaning you should be able to choose to apply it or not.

While it is not possible to see task history in Timeline view at this time, hopefully this is something our Product team can implement in the future.

@Rebecca_McGrath Hi. Is there an update on the feature request as it has been a year? Essentially, a view on:

  1. how many times has the timeline changed
  2. intensity of the duration of the timeline change

This would be very helpful. Thanks.
