Status Update Templates are a great idea. Our use case is that many people provide weekly status updates in the same format, e.g.:
Project Goal
The goal of the project is X…
Progress Update
…
Next Steps
…
Each goal is unique, and it’s helpful for the status update to repeat the goal with the update (hence the section). Templates are great because now those don’t have to be copy-pasted in every week.
It would be great if there were a way to create a single template for everyone using the format, but also be able to invoke a block of text unique to each. If this were done under the current Status Update Template system, there would be a template for every project. I would be better if there was a single template and then users could create custom blocks (a la Google Building Blocks or, I think, Asana Bundles) and then summon those with an @mention or something.
It’s not THAT different from a template for every project, but it would save trouble re-creating the template many times, and also de-clutter the template library.
