Hi Asana Community ![]()
Managing users across an identity provider, Asana licenses, and teams can take time. That’s why we are excited to announce that multi-product provisioning support through SCIM and CSV user import is now live, giving eligible organizations more ways to provision members, manage access, and keep user information up to date as people join, change roles, or leave.
What’s new?
SCIM can sync members from your IDP such as Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, Google Workspace, or OneLogin into Asana. That includes creating members, updating profile information such as name, title, and department, deactivating users, and syncing teams through your identity provider. Learn about provisioning with SCIM and Advanced SCIM set up.
These new changes allow you to utilize SCIM for the new products, including Asana Client Management, Asana Service Management, and Command. More information on provisioning and deprovisioning Asana accounts.
For teams that need a manual option, CSV user import makes it easier to batch-add members and update existing member information. Depending on your organization’s setup, the import can include details such as email address, name, department, job title, and license type. Get started with CSV user import
To configure SCIM, admins begin by creating an Asana Service Account and enabling the User provisioning (SCIM) scope, then connect Asana to their identity provider. Learn more about Service Accounts
A few things to keep in mind
-
SCIM provisioning is organization-wide and doesn’t apply to divisions.
-
Guests and external-domain members are managed through the Admin Console rather than SCIM.
-
SCIM can’t assign Super Admin access, so that step must be completed in Asana.
