How do I sort order of task by due date? Clicking on the due date for ascending/descending order does not work. The first few tasks are due in 2 weeks, then next are tasks due later this week, then further down are tasks due today, then it past due task.
Welcome, @Matt_Benwitt,
According to your screenshot, I believe it’s working as intended.
The down arrow in the Due date column header shows that tasks are sorted in descending Due date order.
Click the column header and the arrow will point up and it will sort in ascending order.
There’s also another approach for ordered Due dates; Click Group:
Thanks,
Larry
Thanks for the response, but take another look at the order. It starts with dates in Oct, then goes to thursday, wednesday, tomorrow, and today. Should’nt the descending order start with today, then tomorrow, wednesday, etc.?
Descending order would start with the latest date.
If you use YYYY MM DD for the first four rows, the dates are:
2025 10 15
2025 10 15
2025 10 09
2025 10 02
That’s in descending order and operating as intended.
Larry,
Thank you for your help.
I have set up email alerts and I have task where the alert in the email says Today. When I click on the link in the email for either the task or the date, it takes me to the Asana page where the date is not today, but a month out?
You might want to create a support ticket: see How to contact our Support Team; if you send them screenshots with URLs they can help you directly.
Thanks,
Larry
