Still need the Filter feature within the Timeline view - it basically renders the timeline view useless

I set a filter on the list view for my portfolio completion status = incomplete work
When I go to the timeline view, there are still completed projects at the bottom.
Is this a bug?

Hi @Mike_O_Dell , that isn’t a bug - it’s expected behaviour because the Filters apply to the List view only.

Commenting to add that our team really needs the ability to sort and filter the timeline view as well. The timeline is virtually unusable for us without it and I’m having to duplicate work in Excel. Thanks!

  • Filter on Project Status/Owner
  • Sort on Project Name/Status/Owner/Due Date

What’s the point of a timeline if you can’t organize projects by TIME! This isn’t a “feature” it’s a basic function of any timeline. Where are you Asana?

Hi, Im new to Asana and cant seem to sort the Portfolio Timeline projects, I can only do it in the list view, I see you logged this back in May 2020 , would you know if there any updates at all ? thank you

I would love to see sort and filter options for the Timeline view in a portfolio. I am using this for reporting purposes but given the number of projects within the portfolio, it’s so difficult to walkthrough on screen. Further, the completed projects are also on the timelines cluttering the view. the timeline functionality is great but not practical to use without the supporting functionalities which are currently present in the ‘list’ view.

Will we be able to see sections in hour view? Currently unable to as cannot have a ‘None’ sort on timeline when viewing hours.

Hi @Mike_O_Dell , it is available for legacy and new plans, that have the Portfolios feature.
