Sort by custom field

Hi,

I manage our blog post pipeline inside Asana. Each post is a task, and added a custom field for the “author” + a status (writing, to do etc). I want to know who is working on what.

I am not using the assignee within Asana (our team do not use Asana), so the information is stored inside a custom field.

How can I achieve this? I can sort by a custom field inside a view, but not inside a search report…

What I did was create one task per possible value of this custom field, so when I sort by this custom field I have at least one section per value and can see if someone does no work on anything (the section is empty, it only have my “blank” task)
