Shared Task as a Subtask

The “Arrange Folders” task originally lives in another project. When I shared it to this project to make it a subtask I am getting both the subtask and a parent task. Is there a way to only have it as a subtask? I need the task to live in both projects. Thanks everyone!

Hello @Emily_Kokol-Rivera1,

Since the main task is already added to this project you can expand it in list view to see the subtasks also.
When you open the subtask „Arrange Folders“ and remove it from the project it won‘t show double.
(You can still keep the subtasj added to the other project where you need it)
Technically a subtask does not belong to the project per se however it will always show as per above screenshot - connected to the main task.

I hope that is what you wanted to know?
