Setting Start Date for Dependent Task upon Completion of Dependency

How can we automatically set a start date for the dependent task once the dependency task is completed?

I’m afraid you can’t do this with the native Asana. Perhaps with a connector tool like make.com or zapier.com, with some complexity because the task to action is different than the task triggered.

FYI this capability is available as an option as part of the overall Dynamic Duration workflow in our Flowsana integration (see “When completing a task, adjust it and its dependents” here.

You would have to implement the Dynamic Duration workflow in order to gain that behavior, something which might be appropriate for you or might not be something you’re interested in.
