I noticed Asana doesn’t send notifications to the user that mentions themselves. Coming from jira, this is a really common flow to track follow-ups.
Example: User “joe” is in meeting adding a comment to task:
“@marie will talk with partner about desired behavior, @joe will file a new task for the remaining bug”
In this case, a notification is sent to “marie”, but not “joe”.

Correct this is not possible currently for comments you post as Marie explained here as well.

I believe the philosophy is that Asana does not send notifications about things you triggered yourself in general…
you can always use the “create follow-up task” feature if needed.
