Would like to be able to tell by looking at a link (e.g., color, a symbol) if I’m already on a task without having to click into it. This would save a ton of time, as a common behavior for me is to click all of many subtasks to make sure I’m following each of them.
Welcome, @Cristina35,
Asana has just the thing for you:
In your project, find the Hide or Options menu button and toggle on the Collaborators field. That creates a Collaborators column. Both the menu and the column are shown in the screenshot. Click Save view if you want to persist that column for others as a default for that project as well.
Thanks,
Larry
Thanks for the response! Sorry, I wasn’t thorough or clear enough — I meant when looking at a link in the description or comments of a task.
Do you mean if you have been @mentioned in either the task description or a comment? Or something different?
Thanks,
Larry
Hi @Cristina35 , that is not currently possible but I have to say that seems like a strange usage of the task description for status updates.
You may want to consider using comments instead.
If it helps, if you can see the @mentioned task / project it means you have access to it, and possibly (but not necessarily) a collaborator / member. If you did not have access, you would instead see Private task / project.
Fair, it might be in the comments but we use the description for similar use cases. We keep all projects public but maybe one day there will be some indicator as I’ve hoped for. Thanks for the attention in your responses.
That is the best practice, whenever possible
