@Rebecca_McGrath I saw the good news about allowing others to edit rules, this is excellent! Happens to be perfect timing because an employee who wrote several rules has just left our company, but we still have her Asana login.

My question is, how can I find all the rules the employee created? I am linking to your answer concerning how rule ownership will pass on – is there any notification to the people who receive the rule ownership? Or do you just find out when something breaks?

> Hi @Taylor_Flood, welcome to the Asana Community Forum wave:t2 Currently, it is not possible to edit/delete Rules created by another user. This is a popular request in the Forum, however! We do have an existing thread in the #productfeedback category for this request so I’ve gone ahead and merged your post with this to consolidate feedback! slight_smile Regarding your specific case, when you deprovision someone who has Rules, their Rule will be paused and ownership of any Rules on projects…

Hi @anon35883359, thanks for reaching out. This is a great question! Right now, there isn’t a process in place to allow you to view all Rules created by a certain user. You would need to check Rules manually in this case.

I’ve gone ahead and moved your post to the #productfeedback category as I think this would be a great addition to Asana! You and other users can add your vote by clicking the purple Vote button at the top of the page!

I’ll keep you posted and let you know if we have any updates 🙂

@Rebecca_McGrath Thanks for the reply, Rebecca. Three further questions:

- Is there any sort of report I can run to list all active Rules, or to find out any sort of aggregate information at all about Rules on my company’s projects?
- When a Rule owner leaves the company, the Rule ownership passes on to the project owner. Is there any notification to the people who receive the rule ownership?
- I do not see the new feature yet, are you still rolling out? This new ability to reassign Rules will apply to all previously created Rules, correct?

</div>

Thanks for following up, @anon35883359!

- At this time, it’s not possible to run a report to find all active Rules. You would need to search manually on a project by project basis.

- Project owners do not currently receive a notification that Rule ownership has been passed to them in the event of a user leaving the Organization.

- We are still in the process of rolling out the new editable rules feature so if you haven’t seen this in your Asana instance just yet, you should soon 🙂

I hope this helps, Katie! 🙂

@Rebecca_McGrath thank you for the response – can you confirm about this reassigning ability applying to previously created Rules?

@Bastien_Siebman @Phil_Seeman do either of you guys have a great tool for finding Rules? My situation is this: one of our employees has left the company, but we still have her Asana login active. I would like to find all the Rules she created and reassign them. I am certain she created rules in some projects, but there are probably 75+ projects as possibilities and I would rather not search them manually.

- Can I find these Rules proactively somehow before removing her account from Asana?
- Is there a way to search for broken/inactive Rules? I could remove her from Asana and then look for the broken Rules, if there’s a way to do it.

Apologies, I missed that part of your question, @anon35883359! Edit permissions will not be turned on by default for previously created Rules. This feature will need to be enabled manually for previous Rules. 🙂

Unfortunately rules are not accessible to Asana’s API (programming interface), so it’s not possible for someone to write a utility to do anything with rules. 😢

Upvote for a report or search of all rules created by a user. This is crucial as my organization has hundreds of projects. Searching through all of them is not feasible.

Having a basic report that show all the rules for a team would be super helpful. Especially if it was further broken down by users that own those rules.

This is even more necessary with Asana Studio pricing plan rollout. I need to see how many AI rules I/my team has created and I need transparency into how many credits they cost as well as how many credits the org has left. I know you can access this at the admin level but I’m at a large org and getting access to this information is difficult. Also, would be great to see when a rule has failed.
