My colleague received an email from [learn@go.asana.com](mailto:learn@go.asana.com), which looks suspicious to me. It’s also strange that she was the only person from our team to receive the email. Has anyone else received a similar email? It is in German – here is the translation:

Welcome, @Seyma_Özkan,

The underlying information in this email is legit, so probably the email is too.

> Hi @Joachim_Koreman, welcome, and sorry to hear this. @lpb is right. The in-app banner you saw is the current source of truth and points to an upcoming change that will limit Free plan collaboration in a project to 2 seats. I dont have extra details to share beyond whats in-app and on the pricing page, and I cant grant exceptions. If you need 4 people collaborating in the same workspace or on the same projects, a paid plan is required. A couple next steps: If you want specifics on timing fo…

I have used Asana for ten years with clients and volunteer groups. Last week I received an email saying that starting October 15, Asana free plans will move to a limit of 2 collaborators per project and team.

The account it affects is a volunteer nonprofit board that has used the free plan for three years, well before the November 2025 change for new accounts. My understanding was that existing accounts kept the 10-user legacy allowance.

A few things have me unsure whether this is real or a mistake:

- There’s no banner or notice inside Asana
- I haven’t received any other communication
- I opened a support case marked urgent last week and it’s still open with no reply
- I can’t find anyone else discussing an October 15 change

Has anyone else received this email? And can anyone from Asana confirm whether legacy free accounts are being moved to the 2-collaborator limit?

With only a few days left, I’d like to know whether we need to make other plans for our board.

I’ve merged your post into that existing topic.

Thanks,

Larry
