Briefly describe (1-2 sentences) the Bug you’re experiencing:

Steps to reproduce:

1. create 2 projects (project1, project2)
2. create rules in both projects to change status when moved to a section.
3. create rules in both projects to move to a section when status is changed.
4. create a task and add both projects. (Now task can be seen in both projects)
5. Move task to a section in project1 mentioned in above rule.

Actual

- status of task is changed in project1
- status of task is changed in project2
**- However according to rule task is not moved to a section on status change in project2`**

Expected:

- status of task is changed in project1
- status of task is changed in project2
**- According to rule task is moved to a section on status change in project2`**

This is actually not a bug but is the designed behavior of Asana at present: rules cannot trigger other rules.

You can add your vote to change this behavior here:

The situation is this: I have a master project and multiple other individual projects. I have Rules to automatically copy tasks created in an individual project to the Master project, which is a great use of Rules. However, I would also like categorization to happen to rules in the Master project, for example to mark new tasks as “Not Started” and to assign them to me. At present, a task that is added to the …
