I’ve created this rule to send an email to an email in a custom field, yet it is not triggering.
I need to send an email to a group of people based on a certain date to alert them of project kicking off. No matter what I do, I can’t seem to get it to trigger and nothing is showing in the run flow either.
I’ve tried to add them in the native assignee column instead, but it said it ran and never actually sent an email. This also won’t work long term because I need to send to multiple people at the same time and for some reason, my assignee column will only allow for one person to be added.
Below is a screenshot of the flow, any help would be appreciated!

I forgot to mention, I have tried adding and deleting the assignee value in the “Reply to” field as well and still haven’t seen any change to the flow.
Hey there @Kira_Light I re-created your rule and was able to get it to work, but I did run into a Google auth token issue (screenshot below) and once I authorized it in my Google account, the rule worked. Are you getting any type of error like this in your rule?
Also, I’m assuming you’re logged into Asana account through “Continue with Google” with your Google account?
Hi @neonrain.club - no errors are showing in the rule, and I am logged in through my Google account for both emails and calendar invites.
And just so I’m thorough, do you have the Asana Workspace app installed?
Our org used the web browser version for Gmail, but I do have the Asana app installed on my computer. Is this a separate connection?
Yes, the link I provided above is actually the Google Workspace Asana app. I believe the installation of that app is required for this rule to work (or at least that was the case for me). Think of it like, the Asana Gmail integration app you have installed in your Asana project is one hand, the Google Workspace app above installed is the other hand, and that’s what completes the handshake and gives the permission to the rule to essentially write an email for you on your behalf.
Click the link in my previous post and the click “install”. And agree to permissions and I believe it will then work.

That kind of worked! I had to add a manual trigger to get it to run, but I am hoping this resolves itself tomorrow when the rule automatically triggers.

I had to do the same to test out your rule
if it works based on a manual trigger or status change, it will most likely work out for your time lapse trigger. Let us know tomorrow if it works out
Update: It worked! Thanks!
