Recurring tasks don't return to New tasks from Tasks for today column after Done

Hello! I check several previous similar topics but didn’t find a solution… So I have several recurring tasks (e.g. weekly report) in a Project (not in MY Tasks!) which appear in the column “Tasks for today” by the automation rule. But when i mark them as Done - the next iteration of the task appear in the same column “Tasks for today” instead of a column “New tasks”.

I checked all the rules i have and even Lifehacks in Settings so that recurring task should appear in the default column (which is it?). i have a rule about “new tasks being added to a column New tasks” - but it doesn’t work for recurring tasks:(

maybe i don’t have the default column? which should it be?

or maybe you know any other ways to solve this?

Hi @Наталья_Умнова , welcome to the forum :wave:

This is unfortunately expected behaviour; Rules will simply not run on tasks generated by recurring tasks, for better or worse.

Perhaps you may want to try and switch the Group by button (top right area) from Sections to Due date instead (click on the ... and choose Hide empty groups).

That way, your tasks will be automatically grouped in the correct ‘Section’ so no need for any Rules :wink:

Perhaps you had your My Tasks Grouped by Due date or another field? :man_shrugging:
