How does one recover a deleted task? It seems difficult to find unless you have the original link of the task.

You can use Search > Advanced search as follows:
Be sure to click the “Deleted” box which is not chosen by default after you add the parameter.
Include a phrase to search for, or other parameter values that will help you locate the task.
