Hi everyone, Happy Friday!
We are thrilled to announce that RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) View Permissions have officially landed in Release Preview! This highly anticipated feature is currently available in the Admin Console for all Enterprise+ customers, with a full rollout to all Enterprise+ and Permissions Add-On customers scheduled for June 2, 2026.
What are RBAC View Permissions?
Managing a diverse workforce—including full-time employees, contractors, and students—often requires complex permission structures. Previously, many organizations had to rely on manual workarounds or “Guest” user tags to restrict visibility, which created administrative overhead and potential security gaps.
The new View Permissions within our RBAC framework allow Admins to:
- Define Granular Access: Edit roles to allow users to exist as fully licensed members of an organization while strictly controlling what they can and cannot see.
- Bridge Governance Gaps: Move away from the “Guest” user model for long-term partners or contractors. Now, they can be managed with the same oversight and security protocols as internal employees without gaining unintended access to the broader organization.
- Automate Compliance: Eliminate the need for manual “clean-up” or complex automated workarounds to hide sensitive data from specific user groups.
The New Role Based Access Controls include:
- Find and access “shared with Organization” tasks
- Find and join “shared with Organization” projects
- Find and join “public to Organization” teams
- Find and access “shared with Organization” portfolios
Why This Matters: Voices from our Community
“It is going to help us remove the manual work from managing a portion of our users who, prior to this change, had to be managed via manual and automated workarounds associated with guest users. The new RBAC feature will effectively eliminate that work for your IT Ops team.”
