[Project Field] Truncating project names when the task is added to three projects

We would like to use Asana for meeting agendas and reference what tasks belong to what projects using the “Project” custom field. However, we noticed that:

  1. The project names truncate to 2-3 characters whenever you have more than one project, regardless of how wide the field is! (see attached screenshot) This makes it impossible to effectively see what tasks belong to what projects.

  2. Further, if the agenda item is (or has) a subtask, the project name is not inherited by the subtask at all and the “Project” custom field appears blank, again making it impossible to see what project the task belongs to.

Can you tell me if there are any planned solutions, or possible workarounds? Thanks!

Hi @rocketbox, thanks for reaching out and sharing your feedback with us!

I see what you mean, it’s currently not possible to expand each project field to make the project name more visible. I’ve gone ahead and sent your suggestion to our product team so it can be considered in future updates.

In regards to your second question, this is a very popular request in the forum and we have an existing thread about that topi. I recommend you to upvote here: Allow to automatically add subtasks to project

I’ve slightly updated your thread name to make it more visible to other users. I hope you don’t mind!

Let me know if you have any follow-up questions!
