Problem with the "group by"

Hello,
I have a problem with the “group by”.
If I want to group by Manager in “List” mode, it is present in my drop-down menu but if I want to do the same thing in “Board” mode, I only have Sections, Priority, Status and Task-Progress. Why?
I used another account and I have all the possible titles in both the List and the Board.
Can you make sure that all the titles are present regardless of the mode and the account please?
Thank you and have a nice day.

@Pauline_Gautier - what type of field is “Manager”? Is it a single-select field or something else (multi-select, person, etc.). To my knowledge, the board group-by only works with single-select fields, while in list, it works for other field types.

Is your other account in the same organization? If not, does the other organization have the same type of manager field?

If you’d like to have non-single-select fields as group-by options in board view (interesting idea), you’ll want to create a new topic in the Product Feedback category, as I don’t see anything there that covers this specific request yet.

Hello,
Sorry for the bad translation, Manager means Assignee.
It’s a basic and single field which is created by Asana.
Thank you for your response.

@Pauline_Gautier - ah ok got it; so you have two organizations and one of them does have the native assignee field as a group-able option in board? I checked my instances and did not see that in any of them, but it could a quiet a/b test being run.

I do agree that for a field like assignee (single-option), this would make a ton of sense in the board view.

@Stephen_Li
Thanks for you return.
Actually, in my “1by1” instance, I can group by assignee in list view and board view and in my “rapidmail” instance, I can group by assignee in list view but not in board view.

This is weird that you can’t group by assignee in any view in your instances.
So you think it is not a bug ?

Thanks

@ambforumleader is anyone able to group by assignee in board view? Is this a test being run?

@Stephen_Li
I just got a feedback from Asana and indeed this feature is A/B testing mode. That’s why not all instances have access to it.
Thanks for your help :wink:
