Option to hide reference and placeholder tasks from project task count

Hi,

Wondering if you’d consider a mechanism to hide some tasks from the automatic Task Counts (Completed, Incomplete, Overdue) etc. that come with project status updates.

There are some times where we create “placeholder” tasks, just to have some kind of object - maybe reference info, something to plunk down a date on a Timeline, etc. It’d be nice to not have such tasks “gum up” those counts.

BTW love the new Status updates - my team is trying to see if we can run a whole project with just that, no typing anything into slides, making points, with power, if you catch my drift…

Hi @Christopher_Yi and thank you so much for your kind words, I’ll make sure to pass on your feedback to the team that worked on this update!

We also use “placeholders” and “reference” tasks at Asana, and I agree it would be handy to be able to exclude them from your project status update count! I don’t believe this is planned just yet, but I’ll make sure to include this feedback as part of my post-launch report so our team can consider it for a future update. And I’ll make sure to keep you posted here as soon as I have an update

PS: I’ve slightly edited the title of your post to make a little more precise and discoverable to other folks who’d be interested in upvoting it!
