Briefly describe (1-2 sentences) the Bug you’re experiencing: User attempted to build a rule using the new rule builder that was centered around submissions through a form, but when the form was completed, the rule did not trigger. When she removed the condition of ‘if submitted via form’, the rule triggered. When she built a similar rule in the old rule builder noting that submissions needed to be coming through the form, the rule triggered.
Note; the screenshot included labeled ‘new rule builder’ shows the rule is paused - that is not what is preventing the trigger, we paused it to prevent it from interrupting other rules, then took the screenshot.
Steps to reproduce:
- Open new rule builder
- When Task is added to this project, set ‘check if’ condition for “From form”
- Add ‘do this’ functions like list of custom subtasks
- Fill out form to test
- Check if rule triggered
Browser version: Chrome Version 117.0.5938.88 (Official Build) (x86_64)

I am having the exact same issue this morning. Rules built with the old builder (in the same project) are running, but new rules are not.
I’m also having this same issue. I made a workaround my having an initial rule that sets another field for “form fill” and then i have my more advanced, “real” rule that is built in the new builder and it triggers off the “form fill” field.
I’ve tested it a few times and it seems to be working with this workflow, but it’s annoying that the rule can’t trigger off of “Added to project” when the task was added via a form.
Hi Liv and Rachel, sorry to hear that you are also running into issues. Because we haven’t been able to replicate this issue yet, we will need some additional information. Can you confirm if you are also using more than one condition in your set-up? Can you also share screenshots of your set up?

In two different (not related or connected) workspaces, any rules built with the new builder are not firing. Rules built with the old builder are. Just checked again this morning.
Hi @Liv_Tillema thank you for the additional information. This seems to be a different issue, although also related to the new Rules Builder.
We still haven’t found any issues with the feature itself, so these issues might be in the workflow, and our Support team would be best equipped to dig into them further since my access here in the Forum is limited.
I kindly ask you all to please reach out to support team with your individual cases, and provide them with the URL link for your projects where the rules are not triggering, as well as the screenshots of your setups.
