Needing to automate the addition of the month name tag that is the month before the month which the task is due...

Within our company structure, there is a need for me at the top level, internally to track how many projects (which are tasks for us) are assigned to each team member in a month. I have saved advanced searches to help me monitor this and they are based on tags of month names. Some of our clients will bulk load projects that are due throughout the year, and we don’t want to tag them for when they are created but more in the time they should start, in this case we deem that the month before. I have tried to use flowsana - zapier too but their automations don’t really suite the need. Flowsana is good, but it lacks the specific condition that i need when it comes to due dates. Any ideas on how i can do this?

Hmmmm, interesting.
I am not aware on any native automation that allows you to do so by adding due month - 1 month.

I believe there is a workaround if you use custom field (Month) and create rules - if due date is between 01 - 28 Feb, change custom field to Jan, etc. This rule currently exists, but it wont tag the month name in the task itself.

@Rashad_Issa Doesn’t that mean you’d need to keep adding conditions? When you’re indicating dates, you’re including the year…

@Kate_Wardwell I’m not sure if you have the required plan, but I think portfolio’s are intended to solve this. When you include the projects, and have start/end dates for the projects you can get a good overview of project overlap in the timeline view.

You can also quickly see the status by colour (when people do their project updates)

I have an enterprise plan, and use portfolios. The issue with this solution, is that what I need is to be able to have an advanced search for all team members that tells me which projects (tasks) in our case they have been working on - how many are assigned and then in what month. The purpose is for tracking those activities to monitor their workloads according to their agreements so they don’t fall short or that we don’t over assign them. I have the searches built. It would just save another step in project management to automate the tagging.
