We used the free version of Asana years ago and then moved to the business plan in a new workspace. Now, we want to move some old projects with tasks from the free version to the new workspace. I know how to export and import, but we want to retain the tasks as complete or open. When you export from one workspace to another, it treats all tasks like they weren’t completed. Any guidance on this?
The defacto tool is a third-party app that even Asana themselves recommend (me too!): http://ditto.kothar.net. It works really well, but do read the caveats there to understand the limitations.
