AS @Bastien_Siebman explained, this is currently not possible to achieve. Although you do have the option to disable Notifications for Tasks Starting & Due Today.
To do so, you need to go to:
- Click on your Profile Photo
- Click on My Profile Settings
- Navigate to the “Hacks” tab
- Disable the Hack regarding Inbox Notifications
- Click the Reload to Apply Changes button to save your changes.
There is also a thread in the #productfeedback category regarding Notifications. In case you haven’t yet, I invite you to upvote it.
I know this is not exactly what you are looking for but it might be helpful to know about it.
