Missing Features - Custom Colors / Selecting Multiple Values in Advanced Search

I have run into two issues with asana that are causing me serious problems

  1. I can’t create custom colors. If I have more than 16 items that need to be differentiated at a time, I am unable to do that.
  2. I have a field in my project labeled “Category,” which I use to differentiate the tasks within the project. (eg. A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J) I’d like to be able to view the calendar for a project, but have it display only certain tasks within the project based on that category (ex. I want to view all tasks from categories A, B, and C only) (Much in the same way that the calendar app on a mac will let you toggle which calendars are displayed) After searching online, I found someone who had the same problem as me, and was recommended to create and then save a couple advanced searches for each calendar view that he would need. However, this does not work as I cannot select multiple categories at a time (eg. A, B, C)
    Does anybody have any workarounds? I feel like these are very basic limitations that could be easily fixed and I have no idea why asana would limit you so severely in such a basic way. I can’t imagine I’m the first person to have either of these problems.

Update in case somebody sees this - I found something of a workaround for the second point, by using the “tags” field I can use the advanced search feature to get me the result I’m looking for, by creating tags and tagging the same tag across multiple categories I can then sort according to those defined tags in an advanced search. Not super intuitive, but a pretty effective solution in terms what I’m trying to do

Point 1 still stands though, its very frustrating to not have the ability to create custom colors according to hex codes

In regards to your first question, it’s currently not possible to create custom colors in Asana. We already have a product feedback about this topic. I suggest you to upvote here: Custom hex colors .
