It will be helpful if the custom fields can either be collapsible or optional on tasks, and subtasks in a project. This is evident in projects that require custom fields but not on every task. For example, in a project you may have a few tasks that serve the purpose of explaining the process and procedures of a project. This explanation would go in the description, and does not need any of the custom fields. There may also be different tasks that require different custom fields

Good idea! Many custom fields can take up a lot of space.
