Maintain project template selections in new projects

Hi all,

The last post I see on this topic is from 2021 - hoping maybe something has changed since then.
I have a custom field that shows which company (ies) “own(s)” a particular task via multi-select (a few tasks are shared). Most of these will be the same in all projects, but they will be different for each task, and a few tasks will be determined at project kickoff, meaning for some tasks, this field will be blank in the template. Is there a way for me to populate this custom field with the correct owners for each task and have those unique values copy over into each new project created from the template? Thank you!

If I understand, project templates offer the ability for you to include custom fields like the one you describe, and to include tasks, and to preset those tasks’ custom fields to the values you want as defaults.

After you instantiate a project from the template, you can then customize those further to value non-defaulted tasks, or override others.
