Maintain Buffer on Dependencies: Functionality Changed?

Hello Everyone,

I have a quick question that, perhaps, I’m just misunderstanding and need someone to help me with. It’s best to explain with a very short 3-minute video which is found right here.

Basically, it looks like the ‘maintain buffer’ feature in dependencies is no longer functioning the way it used to. Additionally, the ‘blue Preview button’ is gone and it seems that dependencies no longer move and maintain the buffer in certain scenarios (though they used to always move together.)

I tried looking this up in the forum so if it’s already there, let me know!

Hi @Wayne_Hedlund1,

Yes, there is an A/B test that just started and you must be part of the test group.

hmmm. Evidently so is my client and this functionality is a core part of their primary projects for the Marcomm’s Dept. They are very confused and are a little stuck too.

Any ideas on how I might have them remove my client from the a/b test group?

Thanks @Phil_Seeman

Unfortunately there’s no way to get removed from an A/B test.

From what I’ve seen, I’m not 100% sure but I think the new functionality is likely going to get officially rolled out into the product, so it’s probably best if they get used to the new functionality.

Thanks for letting me know @Phil_Seeman.

Just curious if you or others could clarify why this change? I think it might impact a lot more people than we realize. Is there a particular principle or Project Management standard that motivated this? It’s just so different from what I’ve known.

Thoughts?

I don’t have any particular inside insight. There is some info on the change in the Ambassador forum but that’s not available to share publicly until a formal announcement of a change is made.

EDIT:
Based on some info I’m seeing, I think it’s fairly likely you’ll see some changes and iterations on the functionality; I don’t think what you’re seeing now will be the final version of this feature.

Good to know. Thanks @Phil_Seeman
