List by tag reports incorrect project name (No Project) for subtasks

Briefly describe (1-2 sentences) the Bug you’re experiencing:

In task list by tag (favorites section), group by project show subtasks in a “No Project” section.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create a task
  2. Create a subtask and assign a tag
  3. Click same tag in favorites

This is not a bug, subtasks are not part of their parent task project  by design!

thanks but where is it written?
regardless of how the subtask is managed internally, I think it’s helpful for the view to respect the project hierarchy.
but it is my thought.

It is probably written in the docs :man_shrugging: that is very often misunderstood because not intuitive indeed!

HI @Carmelo_Messina and welcome to the Forum!

Currently, subtasks don’t automatically inherit the project from their parent tasks, which explains why your subtasks aren’t associated with a project when you run and sort a search for example. You can learn more about about the subtask behaviour in this article from our guide, and cast your vote here to support this feature request.

Hope this helps!

Thanks a lot for the answer.
So simply I must add the project with TAB-P!
I will add my vote.
