Subtask indicators used to exist on mobile. I don’t recall when this was deprecated but it’d be great to bring that back.
This request was marked complete for board views back in 2021. But that’s no longer the case.

Hey @Skyler, I’m a mobile PMs at Asana!
Could you please share more details with me? Are you an iOS or an Android user? What do you mean by indicators? Which views are you referring to (boards or others as well)?
Thank you in advance!
Sure thing @Mishka_Belibassakis - see details below.
Operating System: iOS
View: Primarily List view
By indicators I mean the expand/collapse toggle parent tasks have which, when clicked/tapped, display their subtasks. I believe this is indicated by the .ProjectSpreadsheetGridRow-subtaskToggleButton class within the spreadsheet view on desktop.
Note: There is a subtask indicator on the board view but not in the list view. It would be great to have it on the list view as the board view is effectively useless for me until we can group by custom task status type instead of just being limited to sections, projects, or assignee.
For example, on desktop the indicator looks like this:
But on mobile (iOS), there is no such indicator when viewing tasks within both the project or my tasks views.
For example, the task highlighted below contains a subtask but there is no indication that it does from this view. One must drill-down into the task details screen to discover it.
And here’s another example. This task contains a subtask but there is no indication of that here.
And here is the subtask it contains—which is also assigned to me and shows up as a parent task in the My Tasks view but again, the parent task in the My Tasks view does not indicate it has a subtask nor is there a way to expand and collapse the task from this view. One must drill-down into the task details screen to discover it.
As an intermediate fix, I would also just setting for any sort of icon that indicates a task even has subtasks in the list view.
