I assign people to project roles in my template - how can I include that information in a list view and Google Sheets Sync?

In my project template, I assign people to roles - this is the Engineering Lead, the Product Management Lead, Support Lead, etc. I want to then include that information into the List View and also the live updates to Google Sheets- is that possible?

Example:

  • Project 1
    • Engineering Lead: Allison
    • Product Management Lead: Aaron
    • Support Lead: Abby
  • Project 2
    • Engineering Lead: Bob
    • Product Management Lead: Bonnie
    • Support Lead: Bill
  • Project 3
    • Engineering Lead: Allison
    • Product Management Lead: Bonnie
    • Support Lead: Abby
  • Project 4
    • Engineering Lead: Bob
    • Product Management Lead: Aaron
    • Support Lead: Bill

I want to create:

  • List view in Asana that groups projects by Engineering Lead
  • Separate list view in Asana that groups projects by Support Lead
  • Live update to Google Sheets that includes the different fields - Engineering Lead, Product Management Lead, Support Lead

When I see the overview tab, I see all the different roles called out - I want to bring that into reporting. Any way to do this? I’m open to hacks such as maybe creating a rule to update a field?

You’ll need to create a custom field drop-down with the role selected, in addition to the “native” role. It will allow you to show the role in the list, and do the Google Sync.

That’s a bummer - would be nice if this was already there since Asana already has that stored somewhere else.
