Gantt Chart bars in timeline view

Hello,

Some of my older projects have a “Gantt chart style” in the timeline view where the bars are very profound and stacked, an example like this:

However, now I am seeing when I create a new project, the timeline view looks like this:

with much less pronounced bars. Is there a way to revert timeline view to the old style?

Welcome, @Carl_Qiu,

You can click Options > Layout options > Milestone options and toggle them off for a more compact view:

Click Save view right after that change to persist it.

Thanks,

Larry

Hi @Carl_Qiu , you may also want to try the actual ‘Gantt’ view instead of the legacy ‘Timeline’ view. You can add it by clicking on the + icon on the far right of if your view tabs.

Thanks for the welcome!

I checked my timeline options and I don’t see milestone as an option? Currently my project only has tasks. Does that impact the options?

The projects that my colleagues created are in this compact view but they also don’t seem to have that option…

@lpb sorry not sure how to edit posts but I only see “color tasks by” in my layout options not “show in bar” or the milestone option.

Anything I’m missing?

I’m sorry, @Carl_Qiu, I had thought you were asking about portfolios, not projects; the checkbox I mentioned is only in portfolios. Ignore that!

I guess I’m not sure what “very profound and stacked” and “pronounced” means.
