From Template to Project, "Select a section for tasks" function not working

I’ve created a template that uses a form for requests. In the original project that I used to create the template, the tasks are popping up in the section I’ve selected once a form is submitted. But once you create a new project using the template, for some reason, the task no longer populates a when you submit the form. I’m trying to make it so that anyone who creates a project from the template has their request populate in the right section for our contractors.

I tried re-copying the link and creating a new template, and every time it works in the original project, but for some reason it’s not copying over in the template to project conversion. Any ideas?

I will say what I just noticed is that the form task seems to be going to the parent project that the template is based on and not in the new project. Is there any way around this?

Welcome, @Riki_Dows,

I just tried to replicate your exact steps and it’s working as expected for me, not the way you described.

Are you aware that the original project’s form, and each new-project-from-template’s form, will have unique form links? Your results would occur if you fail to copy and use the newly-minted form link and instead reuse the old form link.

If that’s not the source of the issue, then Try these troubleshooting steps, then please create a support ticket: see How to contact Asana Support.

Thanks,
