Forwarding emails and Asana AI pulling that information to overview tab

My marketing team does a lot of print projects for our university, which includes receiving bids from vendors and tracking that year over year to see the price difference and to reference previous amounts ordered, paper type, ink, etc.

I went to create a rule/automation that when an email is forwarded to the project, for it to pull the information provided and add it to the overview tab in the project. Unfortunately, this is not something Asana AI is capable of! The only solution was add that information to a task description or task comment, which feels like it will get rather hidden and hard to find. While we can manually add this information, this feels like the exact use for AI, to take away that busy work and add it in for us. Would love to see if others might be feeling similarly and if this could improve your workflow.

Welcome, @Mellanie_Muller,

You may want to create a Asana Community > Product Ideas topic to ask for a rule action to update the project description based on email to the project (or similar trigger).

A different approach (perhaps a workaround) to this need might be to consider the new, free Chrome extension I created. It lets your mark for selection the part of the email you want to add to either the end or start of the Project’s Description and do so without navigating away from email:

Thanks,

Larry
