The function library available in the formula custom field is woefully lacking. Are there any plans to augment the library?
Notably, within projects, there are no standard fields or functions for computing the workdays (excluding weekends and preferably customizable holidays) for duration, time remaining, or between any two dates of your choosing. For instance how many workdays are between today and the due date, or how many workdays remain in an estimated effort. Generally, I want to monitor compression in actual hours or days, not in task count or a uniform spread of work utilized by the Workload dashboard. For a project management platform, computing workdays is about the most basic feature that should exist from day one, and this lack of functionality is pretty alarming. This functionality exists in Excel, Google Sheets, and Monday.
Asana standard fields for Duration and Time Remaining, which seem to factor out at least weekends (though I don’t know if holidays are too), are only available for Portfolios. Are there plans to extend these to projects? These would go a long way, though I would still want to be able to perform calendar math in custom formulas using fields of my choosing.
