Someone has left the company and the membership was cancelled in Asana.
Now it’s impossible to use the person’s name in the search dialog anymore.
@stefan when someone leaves Asana we recommend that admins follow the steps to deprovision a user.

So after “Remove Access” I can still search for this person using “followed by”?
If you deprovision a user, that is not the case.
After you have deprovisioned someone from your Organization, a private project containing all of their previously assigned tasks will be created for you. This allows you to easily find and reassign any pending tasks the deprovisioned person has left behind.
